Hunter's Prayer

This post is for me so that I will always remember this.  I love when Hunter puts meaning and thoughtfulness into his prayers - they are few and far between.  Tonight Hunter said the family prayer.  He prayed for his teacher, Mrs. Kambourian.  He prayed that these last 4 days will go well for her and asked that the whole class will be extra good for her.  He also prayed that me, dad, Mavic, and Luke will always know how much he loves us.  If Hunter ever reads this - I LOVE YOU!!

Memorial Day

Today we decided to go up to Hoytsville Cemetery where Spencer's Grandparents are buried.  We thought we would go visit their graves and then clean up the weeds around their plots.  We were expecting lots of weeds, but to our surprise somebody had recently cleaned up the plots.  So Spencer tilled up the more recent weeds while the boys helped clean up.  I was lazy and just took pictures.  Hunter surprisingly had a lot of fun and was a good helper, but I think it had a lot to do with how he loves his Grandma Great.  Hunter still talks about her and asks lots of questions about her.  Today he asked us if her skin is still on her body or if it went with her to Heaven.  It was a nice Memorial Day and Spencer and I have decided we want to do this every year, but also add visiting my grandparent's graves too.

I love how Mavic tries to copy his brother - so sweet to me!

The boys working hard - Mavic decided to work on the other plot.

Hunter cleaning of the headstone.

I think he is so handsome. I love his smile!

Poor Luke was so cold.  It was so windy so I had to wrap him tightly.  He just chilled the whole time.

Spencer and Hunter showing us how muddy their shoes are.

Mavic was afraid of the clay dirt.  After getting the dirt on his shoes, he refused to touch the dirt.

Hunter checking out the camera timer.

Spencer made us take a family photo - I wish we could have waited 6 months when I can lose my baby weight.

Our little yellow flowers for grandma and grandpa.  The VA put these crosses and flags on all of the veteran's graves - it looked really nice.

I would like to have some salsa with a side of carrots, rice, and chicken!

We discovered that Mavic knows how to open Salsa bottles.  We were helping Hunter and Luke tonight at dinner when we hear Mavic say, "Uh, Oh".  We turn around and see this!  When Hunter was younger I would always say how I wish I had a more independent child.  I think I am eating my own words now.

Lucas

Luke fits right into this family; he is either smiling and laughing or he is screaming at the top of his lungs.  Luckily for me he smiles and laughs more than he screams.  I LOVE his smile!

Hunter and Mavic

Hunter wanted me to take pictures of him tonight with him making different faces.  Mavic wanted to join in on the fun, which usually I ask to take his picture and he tells me no.  I was so excited that I actually got several of him looking at the camera and smiling.

Hunter's Good Heart

Hunter's class made a book about what each child wants to be when they grow up. The teacher had it published and so we bought one. Hunter brought it home the other day and we were so touched at what he wrote. I took a picture of it so you can see it.

Cute Luke

Mavic's New Obsession

Mavic has discovered the love of puzzles.  He puts together the puzzle faster than his father - no joke.  He has the pictures completely memorized - it is so amazing to me (although I am his mother).

It is official....

Luke is sitting up all by himself!  I practice all the time with him and then the moment I leave - he does it for his daddy!

Mavic's Numbers

One day after Mavic's nap I went in to his room and found him writing the numbers 11, 12, and 13.  I couldn't believe it.  I decided to take a picture of it so I always remember this!

Mavic's New Thing

For about a month now, Mavic has decided to walk around with his shirt under his chin.  The funniest thing is if he gets his clothes wet he will walk around with his shirt under his chin and his pants pushed up to his knees.  He will walk around like this for 30 minutes or so and it doesn't even bother him.  I just wonder what is going through his little mind!

Mavic Has Left The Building!

Over the past year and a half I have read up on how autistic children like to escape from their homes and go explore.  I was so grateful that Mavic never did this.  Well, he now has figured out how to escape - through our sliding door.  He does it when I am feeding Luke - kids are so smart!  I will come out of Luke's room and find my sliding door open and our gate on our deck wide open too.  Luckily so far, Mavic just goes to the neighbors to play on their swing set, but with Mavic it is only a matter of time before he goes further.  Every time he does it I put him in time out, but he keeps doing it so I am pretty sure the time out thing isn't working.  As scary as it is - he makes me laugh!  We are going to get a lock of our gate so that he can no longer escape - we will see how long that lasts ;).

Things I Love About My Boys!!!

Luke - Luke is 7 months old already and although his first 3 months were a little rough, he has turned out to be my happiest baby.  He loves all of us so much and just lights up every time he sees any of us.  The only one in the family who doesn't really appreciate this is Mavic.  It takes Luke about an hour to fall asleep every night because he just is in his crib laughing and babbling.  He occasionally gets fussy so we go in to give him his blanket and Binky and he will just smile and giggle when he sees us - that is one of my favorite things.  I have never had a baby be developmentally where he should until Luke and it has been so fun to see him progress. As crazy as three kids has been for me, I am so grateful to have Luke in our family and I am so grateful for his joyful spirit he has brought to our home.

Mavic - Mavic is my energetic and curious boy.  Before Mavic turned 3 I used to have a clean house, but now it is always a mess - he is a human tornado.  He has his tantrums, but for the most part he is such a happy boy.  I love how his smile lights up his whole face.  He is my little artist and I am always amazed at his artistic abilities.  He is really starting to talk more and his favorite phrase to say is, "Don't Hunter or Stop Hunter".  He is doing so well in his preschool and LOVES to ride the bus.  One of my favorite things is to see him through the bus window waving and blowing kisses to me.  Mavic's favorite thing to do is to go to the park.  We have found out his way of asking to go to the park is by bringing us his helmet for us to put on him.  He then gets his scooter and walks the scooter to the park.  We have forgotten that the helmet means park a few times and realize it too late when we see him crossing the street down the road.  It is a miracle that he hasn't been hit by a car since he just darts into the busy street.  He is very independent and I have a feeling that no one will ever be able to sway him unless it is something he wants to do.  One last thing I love about my Mavic is the way he prays now.  He just babbles for a long time with a few thank yous in there and then says, "Mamen".  He gets so proud of himself when he does this and it melts my heart.

Hunter - Hunter is the most obedient boy (for the most part).  If you give him a rule - he will always follow that rule.  If he does something he isn't suppose to when he is away from us he always tells on himself - I hope that always stays.  Hunter has one of the biggest hearts I have ever known.  He is always giving toys and money away to his friends at school or in the neighborhood.  If he sees someone in trouble he always asks to say a prayer for them.  Recently we were in charge of snacks at soccer.  We had some leftovers and were walking to the car when he saw a sister of one of his teammates; he told me he was going to take some snacks to her so that she doesn't feel left out.  He has made so much progress in his learning and motor skills.  I am so proud of him and the boy he is turning out to be.

Spencer - Spencer is my best friend.  He makes me so happy and he is our boy's favorite person in the world.  In fact, Spencer is the one who always gets the fun cards from Hunter.  He works so hard for our family and I know is is a stress for him, but he never complains.  One of my favorite things about Spence is his obedience to the gospel.  He never misses his daily scripture study or weekly temple attendance and he always keeps our family on track with family prayer and scripture study.  Another favorite thing about him is that we have so much fun together.  We laugh so much and we find each other to be so funny - I hope that when we are old we still laugh with each other (but at that point we will probably be laughing  because we accidentally toot).
