These are a few of my favorite things!

Today has been a great day for me as a mom and here is why:

1.  Luke hasn't (I am probably jinxing it) hurt our puppy today and has actually been soft with her.

2.  Grace has only had one accident in the house (again, I hope I am not jinxing it).  Well, I left the computer for a little bit and Grace had an accident - I did jinx me :).

3.  Mavic had his first field trip - a trip to a pet store and then to Burger King for some ice cream.

He looks so grown up!

4. Hunter came home and told me he said two silent prayers in school.  He said a prayer for his teacher to start being nice, that the girls in his class would be nice to him, that his grandma's eye would get better and that I would have a better day with Luke and Grace.  His prayers were answered!

All Hail King Luke!

Who knew that his middle name, King, would already be going to his head at the young age of 2.  He really is the bossiest kid I have ever known - he must get this from Spencer's side of the family :).    Luke has discovered Mavic's scooter and now insists on having Hunter push him around - and he does it.  He some how has the power to make us all do what he wants.  It you don't do what he wants, well, lets just say he is not above using biting, kicking, and the meanest crusties you have ever seen.  I am sure you are looking at his face in this picture and thinking, "What is she talking about he looks so sweet".  Do not be deceived he will and can take you down.  I will be honest - I am a little afraid of him.

Looks like we have two dogs!

Luke is at that funny stage where he mimics everyone - including our new puppy!  We keep catching him inside Grace's cage.

Here he is with one of Grace's chew toys - yummy!

I should have just gotten a fish

After much begging from Hunter we gave in and got him a dog.  He kept telling us he was the only one of his friends that didn't have a pet.  He said he either wanted a fish with a cool tank or a dog.  I didn't want fish because I didn't want to have to clean the tank all the time.  So now that we have a puppy who wakes up in the middle of the night to go potty, who has accidents on my clean floors, who threw up once because I gave her a doggie treat that wasn't for puppies, and who I had to give a bath to at 1 in the morning because she had poop all over herself, I have come to realize that I would rather be cleaning a fish tank.

I feel like I have a newborn - only a newborn can wear a diaper.  I have walked past the doggie diapers a couple times and have come close to buying them.  Would it be weird if I have a full grown dog walking around in a diaper - sounds okay to me :).

Her name is Grace (the breeders named her that). They said that she got stuck in the birth canal and the vet had to do an emergency c-section on the mom.  By the time they got Grace out she wasn't breathing.  They said they had to work pretty hard to revive her and because of this felt she was a little miracle and named her Grace.  Once I heard that, I knew she was ours.  I felt like she was a special one and we welcome special ones in our home - like Spencer!

She is a Shorkie and from what I have read and my friend's have one, they are great dogs for kids.  So we shall see how this all goes.  Hunter said he already loves her - I told him if he really loved her he would pick up her poop and feed her and get up with her in the middle of the night.  I guess he really doesn't love her that much :)

Mavic's Photography

Mavic got to my camera the other day and here are his photos - I know it is hard to tell a difference from these to the pictures I take!

No, I wanted the large!

Yesterday we went on a road trip with my dad.  He took Hunter and Mavic into a gas station to pick out a treat.   He made the rookie mistake of turning his back on Mavic.  He said that he was helping Hunter get his hot dog, only to turn around and see Mavic helping himself to a drink of soda.

This is the size he wanted!

We catch the boys like this many of times - too cute!

Dad and the boys - enjoying their watermelon.
