Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we decided to carve our pumpkins that we got from Uncle Dave and Aunt Danielle's pumpkin patch.  The weather was perfect and Luke was in bed - it was a peaceful night :).  I just realized I didn't take an after picture of the boy's pumpkins - I will have to do that later.  This is the first year Hunter actually got to carve his own pumpkin - he was so proud of his work!

Grace couldn't get enough of the pumpkin pieces

FHE - Corn Maze & More

For our family home evening last Monday we decided to go to a local farmer's corn maze and pumpkin patch.  It was such a fun night and even Spencer was able to come with us - we don't get a lot of these family night outs!

This is the best we could do for a posed picture!

Grace's first family outing - she was my most behaved!

This slide was SO fast!

This is Mavic's 2nd time on a pony - the 1st time he kicked the pony, this time no kicking!

I have a little secret to share with all of you.

I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I am kind of a superstitious person.  For example, if I have a choice of picking from several objects of different colors, I will ALWAYS pick the green color. I like to think it brings me good luck.  From time to time I will make myself pick a different color just to prove to myself that I can, but I don't like the feel of doing that.  I really feel that my birthday numbers bring me good luck and I will always use those numbers when numbers are called for.  I have always been drawn to mysteries and conspiracy theories.  I believe in the Big Foot and my dream vacation is to be able to tour area 51.  Now that you all know this, what I am about to tell you may make a little more sense or you will just roll your eyes while reading this post.

A few days ago our family was on the deck when a Magpie came up and landed on our railing.  It scared me to death because it was just staring at us and those birds give me the heebie jeebies.  I of course saved myself and ran inside shuting the screen door behind me, letting my children and husband fend for themselves.  The strangest thing happend after I ran inside - it wouldn't leave.  It didn't seem scared of us even with my boys trying to grab at it.  Then it decided to come down onto our deck following our boys around - so weird!  Okay, so this is where my superstitious ways come into play.  If you have a lone magpie come to you, it means sorrow is near. The reason that is inside me tells me this is cookoo to believe this, but I just can't help it.  Let's hope I am wrong!

My 4 boys, or should I say my three boys and one girl.

We went to the park in between Conference sessions on Sunday.  While we were there Spencer tried teaching Hunter how to swing by pumping his legs.  Look below at the pictures to see how Spence is using his legs to swing.  I was dying laughing at how perfectly pointed he had them when he would swing his legs backwards - so dainty!  I sure love all those boys - and they are all mine :)

Where does he come up with this stuff?

Every night Mavic climbs up to the top bunk to hang out with Hunter and every night we have to go in and get him down.  Last night was no different, the boys were getting rowdy so Spencer went in to get Mavic out of Hunter's bed.  The difference with last night was what Mavic said.  When Spencer said he needed to get down Mavic responded by saying, "You have won this one".  Where did he even hear this?  He is always surprising us by his funny ways!

Run, Hunter, Run

We went up the mountain behind our house and on the way back down Hunter wanted to run all the way home - it was probably a mile.  I couldn't believe he ran the whole way especially with his flip flops on. The best part was he would stop along the way to move large rocks so that our truck didn't have to go over them - I love that kid!

Here he is running down the street doing his funny marching run.  People don't usually see his hilarious side - I am so glad I have a funny child!

This is amazing... to me at least.

During Mavic's quiet time he did this.

Even though he missed one letter, I think it is perfect.  I didn't even know he could write this word - and his writing is AMAZING!  I love his hippo too - stickin' cute!  I love this boy's amazing abilities; it makes me a happy momma!

SO STICKIN' CUTE!

And no, that isn't poop on the carpet.  It kind of looks like it though :).
